Félicitations aux joueuses de football japonaises qui sont devenues championnes du monde de football (soccer) féminin pour la 1ère fois de leur histoire lors de cette Coupe du Monde féminine 2011 en Allemagne. Ceci va mettre du baume au coeur au Japon touché par la catastrophe de Fukushima. Le Japon peut dire merci à la gardienne du Japon Ayumi Kaihori qui a stoppé 3 tirs au but des américaines.

Score final : Etats-Unis d'Amérique contre Japon  : 2-2 (tirs au but 1-3).
Buts : 69'  Morgan (USA), 81'  Miyama (Japon), 104'  Wambach (USA), 117'  Sawa (Japon).

Le podium du Mondial : 1- Japon, 2- Etats-Unis, 3- Suède
A noter que l'équipe de France a fini à la 4ème place c'est son meilleur résultat.

Darren Clarke (Nord-Irlandais) a remporté le British Open de golf 2011 qui est la 3ème levée du Grand Chelem chez les hommes (275 coups au total des 4 tours à -5 sous le par).
C'est sa 1ère victoire en Grand Chelem. Il a devancé de 3 coups les américains Dustin Johnson et Phil Mickelson.
A noter la belle 8ème place du français Raphael Jacquelin à 6 coups du vainqueur. Rory McIllroy a fini à 12 coups de Clarke.
